Calcium Stearate

Calcium stearate is a white solid, nontoxic, insoluble in most solvents, slightly soluble in hot aromatic solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbons, vegetable oil, mineral oil, etc. It dehydrates and starts to soften at temperatures between 120℃ and 130℃, and takes a viscous consistency at approx. 160℃, and decomposes when the temperature is higher than 400℃, In case of strong acid, it is decomposed into fatty acid and corresponding salt. Calcium stearate is mainly used as heat stabilizer of PVC, lubricant of various plastics processing, release agent, etc.
